Dawn Hubbell was born and raised in the rural town of Pownal, Vermont.  Her love for animals and nature started at a young age, and her passion for writing and creating art. Upon graduating from college, she worked for seven years in the animal care field and volunteered at a farm animal sanctuary. Through these experiences, she saw a need to create an awareness of treating animals with kindness. She became an author and illustrator, creating children's books with compassionate themes that teach empathy towards all. She now resides in New York with her husband and their son, and five furry adopted family members.
